Charter Charitable Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)3
public charity, registered with the Internal Revenue
Service and the New Hampshire Attorney General's
Office- Department of Charitable Trusts. Gifts to
Charter Charitable Foundation are irrevocable and the
Foundation Board of Directors has the ultimate
discretion on the application of funds. Donations to
Charter Charitable Foundation are locally managed. |
The Foundation offers Donor Funds, Restricted and
Unrestricted Endowment Funds and Planned Giving
Tools.
Other 501(c)3 non-profits as defined by IRS code, and
registered with the State Attorney's General Office(s),
but not necessarily limited to New Hampshire,
Vermont and Maine. Grants will not be made to
individuals.
The Restricted Fund is available to donors who have a
specific organization(s) or social purpose they want to
support for a set period of time or for a specific dollar
limit. This endowment can be made either during
one's life or in a testamentary bequest to the
foundation.
They serve two very different purposes. A Donor
Fund is ideal for the donor who wants to be more
involved in their charitable giving, but is looking for
assistance in screening eligible and worthy charities. It
is also a great tool for families looking to create inter-
generational involvement in the family's philanthropic
activities, without the complexities of a private
foundation.
A Restricted Fund will appeal to donors looking for a
more defined, structured and simplified charitable
giving process. From the donor’s perspective, it allows
detailed direction of their donation not subject to Board
approval. And, after creation and funding there is little
more involvement needed from the donor. |

Charter Charitable Foundation's Unrestricted
Endowment Fund provides charitable contributions to 501(c) 3 organizations
whose quest is to improve the quality of life, health and well
being of individuals and communities within Northern New England.
The
recipient charities' purpose could include education,
health, human services, environmental issues, as well
as many others.
Charter Charitable Foundation evaluates grant
requests and the needs of the community on an
ongoing basis to determine which potential charitable
recipients would experience the most impact with the
greatest results from a CCF charitable grant. We
routinely follow up with grant recipients to ensure the
money donated is used for the purpose intended.
